So far, I like the rules that I can infer from game experience, especially when there is no initial activity and the game is 'cancelled' with no affect to score.

The initial inactivity which results in a 'cancelled' match is a feature that has been added to Season 0.
Currently there are no penalties for cancelling games.
As for future seasons there might be a penalty for it.

There is also no list of rules which you can check online.
